The Story of Vape Machine
The Story of Vape Machine
I’ve been smoking since I was a teenager, well over 20 years. Aside from Marine Corps boot camp where we couldn’t smoke for a couple months (and even then I managed to squeak one in from a guy that ‘found’ a pack), I never even tried to quit. I actually quite enjoyed smoking…
A couple years ago, back in 2011, I picked up some electronic cigarettes to use on long flights, sitting on a plane for 8-9 hours without a cigarette was definitely trying. They weren’t very good replacements for the real thing, but they worked. Then I kept them for long car rides, and soon used them during the winter to avoid having to step outside into the cold, snow and rain. I found some interesting flavored ones as well and thought that was neat – red bull flavor? Sure! One week, I got sick – I felt so horrible that I simply couldn’t smoke cigarettes (don’t think I didn’t try though). I went almost an entire week with only a single pack (I still have the pack, there are 2 left in it, and I keep it as a trophy!). I asked my wife (also now a converted vaper) to get me an electronic cigarette figuring it would curb my appetite and keep me from smoking while sick. It worked. I still haven’t gone back. Today, I feel better, I smell better, I can taste things, I don’t get winded or tired, my heartburn is gone, I don’t weez when I sleep, my clothes, house and car are cleaner, I don’t have ashes everywhere…
Eventually, the disposable electronic cigarettes made way for ego’s and clearomizers, which soon were replaced by rebuidables, RBAs, variable voltage and mechanical mods. If I saw it, I bought it. Aside from switching from smoking to vaping, I found a very interesting and intriguing hobby. But I still remember the confusion I experienced when looking for an upgrade to my disposables. Tankomizer, clearomizer, cartomizer, 510, 808, RBA, hybrid, 650mah, 1100mah, variable voltage, variable wattage, twist, coils, ohms, PG, VG, nicotine levels… it was a bit overwhelming, but I dove in and got my hands dirty, trying and testing everything I could get my hands on. It’s clear I was in for the long haul (but somehow kept my vaping budget less than my smoking habit was costing me). I visited dozens of websites and forums – everything seemed a bit disorganized, language wasn’t standardized, products seems similar but varied in price – so I wanted to clean things up, organize things my way – all the while remembering my experience and growth: from smoking, to disposables, to ego starter kits, to sitting at the table wrapping coils for my RBAs with a multimeter…
I wanted a new online store – one that catered to new vapers and experienced alike, as well as those making their own journey; somewhere you can buy a starter kit; and when you are ready to invest, upgrade from there. The product line we’ve chosen consists of items I have used in the past, currently use and would recommend to my friends (and I’ve done a lot of recommending!). So, after putting together a few bulk orders for myself and friends, importing and getting familiar with some product and suppliers, I decided to take my knowledge and experience and do something with it. And so, there we were, and here we are. Vape Machine. I’ve spent a considerable amount of time helping friends, family, co-workers, acquaintances and complete strangers switch from smoking to vaping – from showing them my vaporizers and recommending which products would work well for them, to where they can find products and how they work. I’m putting all that experience, from the confusion I experienced initially to the knowledge I’ve gained since, into Vape Machine.
